Isis-linked jihadist group Ahfad al-Sahaba claimed responsibility for the attack in an online statement, saying the attack was part of the “jihad against Jews”, and a response to the recent arrest of operatives of the group by Hamas, the Islamist organisation that controls the Gaza Strip.
Haaretz reports that the group is allied with Isis-linked Salafist groups in Gaza, and claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on the town on 21 August, which did not cause any injuries. However, 20 people were reportedly injured in retaliatory strikes by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)….
